Professional Financial Services
with a personal touch
These days business people want an accountant to be more than someone who prepares financial statements and tax returns. They’re often looking for someone to bounce ideas off and provide them with input about their plans and challenges. Our small team is well equipped to provide the ‘more’ because between us we have 100 years of commercial experience in a wide range of industries and business sizes. There’s no substitute for experience.

Encouragement
All accounting practices prepare financial statements and tax returns, and some extend these services to help set up client’s accounting systems, etc.
We adopted the ‘Xero’ accounting software as our only accounting software back in the day when they only had a couple of hundred paying clients. Xero allows us to ‘partner’ with our clients – they process the information, and we polish it. Partnering with clients is part of who we are.
Because Xero is cloud-based, we can be working on it at the same time as the client. And it’s mobile friendly too, so they can access their information anywhere in the world.

Large businesses have two main advantages over SME’s, peer support and accountability. Peer support allows managers to "bounce" ideas off someone else. Accountability ensures their actions are scrutinised because everyone is accountable in a larger company.
To fill these gaps we encourage clients to bounce their ideas off us. Though clients aren’t accountable to us, we find those who seek our input end up making better decisions. We also encourage what we call ‘quasi-accountability’.
Being in business can be lonely, which is why we see our role as encouragers. Encouragement is part of our DNA.
"One of the most beautiful gifts in the world is the gift of encouragement. When someone encourages you, that person helps you over a threshold you might otherwise never have crossed on your own."
